Description

The cpuid instruction on newer processors provides information about the cache hierarchy, which includes CPU <=> cache sharing relationships. Where available, Solaris should use cpuid to become aware of the processor's cache hierarchy specifics so that it may employ scheduling policies that best suit the performance relevant characteristics of the processor's cache hierarchy.
