Description 
Devices that have a REPORT GENERAL payload longer than the SAS 1 standard response cause the IOC to return SAS_SMP_DATA_OVERRUN. This is interpreted as a failure condition, and hence the device is not enumerated.

It is not an error, but the expander wants to return more data than the buffer has allocated.
