Description
On systems using an AST2000 video device, we've seen instances where
the Xorg server comes up with a lower than usual resolution. Looking
at the log files shows that the high value for the "Clock range" is
lower than it normally should be, and this causes the lower resolution
to get selected. The mis-detection of the clock range usually happens
on the first reboot after installation, but has been seen at other times
as well.

The problem seems to go away when the Xorg server is restarted. This
problem has only been reported on AST2000 devices.
Work Around
Restart the Xorg server.
