     Questions

This bug is in the "Fix Understood" state. Is there an estimate
of when a fix will be available?

The work-around is to use the generic VGA driver and disable the
specific ast_drv.so. Can someone please provide instructions as to
how to implement this work-around? Thanks.
To invoke the generic VGA instead of the ast driver, one can rename the following two files to some other names.
/usr/X11/lib/modules/drivers/ast_drv.so
/usr/X11/lib/modules/drivers/amd64/ast_drv.so

Reboot the system or restart the X-server by "svcadm restart cde-login".
Work Around
The workaround method is using the default generic vga driver and disable ast_drv.so.
