Description 
In the current ZFS diagnosis engine, we associate cases on a (pool) or
(pool, vdev) basis.  If the underlying pool or vdev is destroyed or
removed from the system, we never close the associated case.  This can
lead to fmd's checkpoint state growing infinitely.  This state is
small, but may become larger as we start to incorporate SERD engines
into the diagnosis.
