Description
I installed solaris 10 update 3 build 09 on both the LS41 and the HS21 blades in the IBM BladeCenter. The graphical login screen shows up on the real console in the server room. But when I access the machine through the Management Module web page and view the console using Remote Control, I don't see the login screen. I get a "No video available" error. Remote Control says it supports 1024x768 at 60Hz, and when I login on the real console, Xorg tells me that it is using 1024x768 at 60Hz.

Both machines use ATI ES1000 515E chipsets.

If I run "Xorg -configure" to create an xorg.conf and change Driver from "ati" to "vesa", Remote Control is able to see the graphical login screen and I can login and it works fine.

If I switch to Xsun using kdmconfig, Remote Control is able to see the graphical login screen and I can login and it works fine.
Although the graphical login screen shows up on the real console, it is shifted about one inch to the right. Using the monitor's auto-adjust button doesn't fix the problem. The "vesa" work around fixes the problem.
This problem is seen on the IBM BladeCenter LS21, LS41 and HS21 blades.
Work Around
Use Xsun or run "Xorg -configure" to create an xorg.conf and change Driver from "ati" to "vesa".
