This is for the enhancement of the Intel/AMD based device drivers to support
Intel's ICH8 family of I/O controller hubs which provide:
PCI Express*, USB, AHCI, SATA, Intel High Definition Audio (Intel HD Audio), SMBus, PCI, ACPI and LPC.

Steps to Reproduce
Use BIOS Update 1441 [BX97510J.86A]
Heavy loading of SATA drives and correct detection of ICH8/ICH8R devices can be seen upon booting - although BIOS is configured correctly.
Expected Result
SATA performance comparable to Windows XP device drivers for SATA.
Actual Result
Poor SATA performance under heavy disk load.
