Description 
Xorg offers a command line option "-br" to initialize the root window to solid black 
instead of the grey cross-hatch pattern.   Xsun needs to offer this option so the 
CoolStart login screens can use it with both servers to reduce visual disruption
during the CoolStart startup sequence.
