Description
At present, solaris treats hotpluggable devices (USB hard/1394) as removable media devices, and doesn't support EFI partitions and device ID for these devices. However, some storage softwares, such as Sun Cluster, need device ID to identify disks. Therefore, hotpluggable disk devices cannot be used for this goal. There is a increasing demand for supporting device ID for hotpluggable devices. Therefore, psarc 2005/731 is proposed to solve these issues.
