Description

A confusing message is output by the USII-io-diagnosis Diagnosis
Engine following a PCI UE error on an UltraSPARC-II-based system.
A SUN4U-8001-2X message will be output along the lines of:
SUNW-MSG-ID: SUN4U-8001-2X, TYPE: Defect, VER: 1, SEVERITY: Minor
EVENT-TIME: Mon Aug 22 10:36:12 BST 2005
PLATFORM: SUNW,Ultra-4, CSN: -, HOSTNAME: <hostname>

EVENT-ID: f5c4545e-2afd-c965-f9e7-c27332fb2c5f
DESC: The Solaris Fault Manager received an event from the IO
subsystem for which automated diagnosis software is
currently unavailable.

information.
AUTO-RESPONSE: The error information has been saved for examination by
Sun.
IMPACT: The error log will need to be manually examined using
fmdump(1M) in order to determine if any human response is
required.
REC-ACTION: Use fmdump -ev -u <EVENT-ID> to view and record the
undiagnosed errors.
The output advises that `fmdump -ev -u <...>` is run but, when this is
done, no useful output results, eg,
