Xserver can still crash on JDS Solaris 10 even with the XVR-1200 Patch 118708-04
Graphics PDE had fixed what seemed to be a similer Xserver crash bug which was caused by the XVR-1200 by patch 118708-04 for ESC 1-7189713. So customer installed the patch, but they still saw the Xserver crash albeit a little less frequent, so reportedly there was some level of improvement with the patch.

Customer has been able to reproduce the xserver crash on a SHCU (GD ruggedized
SunFire V440) workstation both with and without the patch 118708-04 loaded.
Below are the steps the cu used to reproduce the crash. These steps may have to be repeated a few times before the xerver actually crashes, but it will happen eventually.
1. From the Java Desktop, start the screensaver applet.
2. Make sure that the Mode is set to "Only One Screen Saver"
3. Expand the window vertically so that several screensaver names are visible.
4. Select "Atlantis"
5. Select "Boxed"
6. Select other screen savers in order going up the list. When you get to the top ("Anemone"), reverse direction of selection until you end back on "Atlantis".
7. Close the window via the 'X' in the upper-right corner.
8. The X-server should crash.
It is not yet known for sure whether the problem can be reproduced without an XVR1200, seems additional testing may be in order.
