Description 
Attempting to run a 64-bit x86 program that uses libfreetype.so fails with this
error:
ld.so.1: ../../../exports/bin/mkfontscale: fatal: relocation error: R_AMD64_32:
file /usr/sfw/lib/amd64/libfreetype.so.6: symbol (unknown): value 0xfffffd7fff140000 does not fit
ld.so.1: ../../../exports/bin/mkfontscale: fatal: relocation error: file ../../../exports/bin/mkfontscale: symbol FT_Init_FreeType: referenced symbol not found

'ldd -r /usr/sfw/lib/amd64/libfreetype.so.6 ' shows many more relocation errors 
that need to be fixed so the library can be used.
