Description
Apparently, events that happen on a running, unattended system cause the
persistent repository /etc/svc/repository.db to be modified. This is based
on a report that I didn't investigate thoroughly so I can't say for sure that
there wasn't something running on the system that was doing something
inherently persistent via SMF. But I see that on jurassic, for example,
repository.db was modified a minute ago. If repository.db is being modified
as a result of routine activity, and not administrator-initiated action,
this should be fixed so that run-time modified data are under /var and
administrator-modified data are under /etc .
