mkbfu -f "cpiotranslate -e $SRC/realmode/pkgdefs/etc/exception_list_$MACH $SRC/realmod/pkgdefs" -z $ROOT /path/for/archives

(Not a complete workaround -- leaves out IHV binaries.)
